Setup

The above photo shows the Viking Paste-Press assembled with the counter, table, and material roller in place.

The following photos show setting up the Viking Paste-Press from the back of a pickup.

The drawings below show the Viking Paste-Press being raised off the floor. It makes for an easier job if the rollers are first removed.

This transparent end view of the fully assembled Viking Paste-Press shows all the right parts in the right places with the threaded vinyl web highlighted in color.

Shop Adjustment

The following series of photos and drawings show how to adjust the gap between the paste pickup roller (#13) and the paste delivery roller (#15). The gap should be approximately 0.030" as measured near each end by a feeler guage. This setting is ment to be a "shop setting" and once set should require no more adjustment.

This photo with the roller removed gives a good view of the paste roller saddle block adjustment screw #12. This screw comes up from the bottom as a way to discourage unauthorized field adjustment.

Field Adjustment

The following series of photos and drawings show where to adjust the gap between the doctor roller (#17) and the paste delivery roller (#15). The gap should be approximately 0.010" as measured near each end by a feeler guage. This setting is meant to be a field setting and will vary with different vinyl and paste. Tightening the adjustment screws (clockwise) will result in less paste being tranfered the the vinyl web.

The three point fine adjustment allows the operator to use full strength clay paste. The center adjuster abuts the the middle of the doctor roller and keeps it from bowing under the pressure of heavy bodied paste. When using less viscous paste it is not always necessary to use the center adjuster. The drawing below shows what the center adjuster is used for.

This picture shows the fine adjuster
screw (#25) at the end of the machine.

This Photo is taken from the top side of the machine and shows the doctor roller in place in the paste roller saddle block. When the fine adjustment screw is tightened the doctor roller is moved closer to the paste delivery roller.
